Function:
The Cable with Slugs is the heart of the CABLEVEY conveyor system. The cable is always an endless loop and, with discs attached, carries product as it is pulled through conveyor tubes.

The 7/32 in. (5.556 mm) diameter, 6 x 31 extra flexible, preformed, hi-fatigue, aircraft cable is made in keeping with the requirements of aircraft manufacturers, airlines, federal government and military specifications. The galvanized cable is rated at a minimum strength of 5,600 Lbs. (2,539.7 kg), stainless steel 5,000 lbs (2,267.6 kg). The zinc slugs molded onto the cable carry a greater load than the cable’s minimum strength.

We offer 3 different types of cable:
Jacketed Stainless Steel - Nylon and Teflon coatings are wrapped around the Stainless Steel cable to form a seal between the discs and the cable. These "jacketed" cables are used for food-grade and sanitary requirements - and they're easy to clean.
Stainless Steel - Used for most applications where jacketing is not needed for sanitary requirements .
Galvanized - Used for conveying non-food materials.
